Historical Destination Since 1922

The Chase on the Lake Resort and Spa has had a storied past dating back to the 1850s. The historic building has been at the heart of Walker, Minnesota and continues to thrive along the shores of Leech Lake. On June 4th, 1980 Chase on the Lake was place on the National Registrar of Historic Places. After the fire in 1997, the historic hotel remained vacant. Then, in 2005, it was purchased and a 30 million dollar renovation began, re-opening in June 2008. Part of the original structure’s main entrance was preserved in the new year-round facility. A crowd gathered at the Chase on July 23, 2008 for a grand re-opening event, making a new beginning for the old Chase.
